Avoiding Altitude Sickness

Avoiding Altitude Sickness information - may be relevant if you are traveling to high country and staying there for a prolonged period of time (more than a day) - for example paragliding in Tibet...  Note: "According to the Centers for Disease Control, gingko biloba, if taken before ascent, has been shown to reduce symptoms of altitude sickness." is no longer true.  Ginko has been shown NOT to be helpful but other medications - such as Acetazolomide and Dexamethasone ARE helpful but must be prescribed by your doctor!
